I am fortunate enough to live in Taungurong country, the land on which our venue Holmesglen is located, and am excited to show off our piece of paradise. I am an enthusiastic community development practitioner, facilitator and trainer, and member of the Jeder Institute collective.

I am a participatory process host, and steward of the Art of Hosting Conversations that Matter.
I love working with organisations 'going Teal', and am a student of the new paradigms emerging for a more connected, compassionate future. I see my work with Purpose Partners as co-creation - working with others to bring new ideas to life. I have a growing conviction that empathy, compassion and forgiveness are the keys to a meaningful life. I love hosting and nourishing others on their path as they host and nourish me. |

I’m passionate about people! Seeing people discover what they care about, enough to act on, is exciting and rewarding.
I’m an international community engagement and development trainer and facilitator who believes in the power of tapping into the collective wisdom of a community to strengthen and build on what’s already there. I’m a Collective Member of the Jeder Institute and have been applying participatory leadership processes to my work for almost 2 decades. As an ABCD trainer and consultant, founding member and Facilitator of the ABCD Asia Pacific Network, an Art of Hosting trained facilitator, a founding co-creator of The Unconference, a Flow Game Host and DRUMBEAT Facilitator, I love witnessing the light bulb moments people have when they discover their assets and strengths! |

I am a passionate, committed creative social work practitioner who has worked across the community sector for over fifteen years in community development, research, and policy. I believe strongly in the power of people and communities to drive their own change; and creating opportunities for all voices to be heard in systems, particularly for those who are impacted the most by policy and program development. I have a background in visual arts which I am currently reigniting, and am enjoying many opportunities to use creative processes to engage and connect with people. I am a participatory process practitioner, and one of 3 Purpose Partners.
I work internationally with harvesting conversations, meetings, and gatherings that matter, specializing in the practice of graphic facilitation, graphic recording, visual sensing and sense making. I translate the dynamics and words in the room into visual language and artwork in real time, both on paper in physical space and digitally in the online realm. I approach the surfacing, capturing, and sharing of content, insight, and dynamics as part of a strategic process and facilitate it at all stages. I am a graduate of the MSc. in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability, Sweden. You can see more about me at www.violatschendel.com

I have been working in the Neighbourhood House sector for many years and am an alumnus of the Rivers and Ranges Community Leadership program. A keen photographer and family person, I effectively manage the huge responsibility of a very happening Neighbourhood house. I was heavily involved in bushfire response and recovery in the Kinglake community after the 2009 Victorian Bushfires, participating in the roundtable for the needs of young people and as part of the working group to establish a youth space in the Kinglake Ranges.
I have a background in welfare work and a passion for the development of grassroots community organisations. I am passionate about issues such as family violence, youth pathways and volunteerism and utilise Art of Hosting practices in my current role. |
